"Ich halts das Kein Instrument sey Der Menschen stim mit melodey So ecnlich/gleichsam die Geigen Sing drein/so hörstus eigen"

Martin Agricola, 1529.

Since my beginnings I have understood that each instrument It is a bridge between the history and the emotion, between the subject and the music. As luthier, merge tradition and innovation in the artisanal construction of violas da gamba, always looking for a balance that gives life to each creation.
Each viola da gamba that is born in me workshop is unique. I personally select fine woodsmaple, fir, ebony— and I pay special attention to each phase of the process, from the structure until the final finish. The size, the marquetry and the ornamental details They are not mere ornaments: they reinforce the expressiveness and the stage presence of the instrument, making it a true artistic work. This process is always enriched in constant dialogue with the music person. Heard, I interpret and I transform in subject your needs expressive, adapting shape, comfort and sound response. I think that the craft lives in the detail, in it time spent, in the honesty of each gesture and, above all, in the construction of lasting human bonds.
From 2007 I have built violas da gamba for reference interpreters —Buenaventura Rico, Fahmi Alhai, Rami Alqhai, Johanna Rose, Calia Álvarez, Sara Ruiz, Pilar Almalé— consolidating a production recognized for its technical quality, acoustics and artistic.
My commitment with the lutherie goes beyond the workshop: am active member of the Guild of Luthiers and Archers of Spain (GLAE) and I collaborate in the divulgation of the trade through initiatives such as ExpoFEMAS either Mold breaker, bringing the craft to the heart of the city and to the general public.
The music It is not a object: it's a meeting.
